CLUB SCRAPE HOME WITH HOME WIN OVER FOXHOLE IN LEAGUE TENS

David Sidwell with Anne Sidwell & Tony Rogers saved the day with a very convincing win in the triples event to pick up the necessary shots to take the club through to the next round.

20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

35 Members and friends celebrated the club's 20th Anniversary at a dinner and presentation of trophies at the Thurlestone Golf Club.

CLUB TREASURE HUNT

17 Members, families and friends had a go at  a drive and stroll treasure hunt which took them to some of the lesser known items of interest in the ancient port of Dartmouth. An impromptu barbecue organised by Sally and Pete completed the event which including the donation of prize money contributed £26 to the clubs charity, the Devon Air Ambulances Trust.

2009/10

All too soon the new season is almost upon us and things are getting underway in preparation. There will be a 4 Bowl Pairs Evening on Wednesday 16th September, the New Season Opening Bowls Drive will be on Wednesday 23rd September and Stokers will have a practise on Friday evening 25th September. As discussed at the A.G.M we are arranging a Rules, Roles and Etiquette afternoon for Sunday 27th September. From the list of members wishing to represent the club in league matches, players have been allocated to either Stokers or Hammers and a notice will go on the board. STOKERS WIN DIVISION 2

The final of the League KO between Creameries & Ivybridge resulting in Creameries finally winning by just 2 shots was a fitting prelude to the presentation of the league trophies when Stokers received their trophies for winning Division 2.

IN THE CLUB FINALS

PETER SANDELL HEADS BRIAN COLEMAN TO TAKE CLUB SINGLES TROPHY, JOINS JOHN & ANN CADMAN WITH VIC FLAWN TO WIN THE CLUB FOURS AND LEADS VIC FLAWN AND SUBSTITUTE ALAN BALL TO COLLECT THE TRIPLES. A CLEAN SWEEP IS SNATCHED WHEN PLAYING AGAIN WITH VIC FLAWN DAVID AND ANNE SIDWELL TAKE THE HONORS IN THE PAIRS.

JOHN CADMANWITH ANN CADMAN & ANNE SIDWELL WIN THE 2009 LAVIS CUP TRIPLES TROPHY

30 members competed in the 2009 draw for partners Lavis Cup Triples Competition which was again followed by a very enjoyable  club party. The main attraction was without a doubt the excellent American Supper when the main courses were supplied by the club and the members provided sweets, cheese, bar etc. The highlight of the entertainment was again and by popular request supplied by John's Jollies with support from all.
