DIARY NEWSLETTER THE CLUB LATEST CLUB NEWS THE BLOCK
MINUTES OF THE TWENTYTH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE STOKENHAM SHORT MAT BOWLING CLUB HELD IN STOKENHAM PARISH HALL ON WEDNESDAY 22ND APRIL 2009 WHEN THE CHAIRMAN MR. J. CADMAN PRESIDED AND A TOTAL OF 28 MEMBERS WERE IN ATTENDANCE.
APOLOGIES: Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Binks, Blake, Lavis, Symons and Mr. & Mrs. Tilbury. Also Messers Ball, Haken, and Ben Goodman.
MINUTES: On the proposition of Mr. D. Elks seconded by Mrs. Anne. Sidwell the minutes of the meeting held on the 23rd April 2008 and which had previously been posted were agreed and signed by the chairman.
CHAIRMAN’S
REMARKS: The chairman opened his remarks by welcoming everyone to the 20th AGM saying how pleased he was that the club continued to prosper with a healthy balance of competition and sociality. Mr. Cadman and went on to thank everyone for their commitment and particularly the members of the committee for their considerable contributions and support.
He was very saddened to have to report the passing of long served member Mike Blake paying tribute to the considerable contribution Mike hade made to the club both as a player and an official. A moment of silence was held in Mikes memory.

SECRETARY’S
REPORT Mr. Greening then gave his report a copy of which is attached.
The chairman thanked the secretary for his report and all that he did out on behalf of the club.
TREASURER’S
REPORT: Mrs. Cadman was pleased to report on another satisfactory set of accounts together with a recommendation for no increase in fees or subscriptions. A full copy of the accounts and the treasurer’s report is attached.
On the proposition of Mrs. Pat Greaves seconded by Mrs. Anne Sidwell the report and accounts were unanimously adopted together with a vote of thanks to both the treasurer and the auditor.

SEC’S REPORT: Mrs. Greening presented her report a copy of which is attached
The chairman thanked Mrs. Greening for her report and for all her hard work, which was warmly applauded
AMENDMENTS
TO THE
CONSTITUTION: No notice of proposed changes to the constitution had been received.
ELECTION OF
OFFICERS On the proposition of Mr. D. Greaves
seconded by
Mr. D. Elks, Mr. Cadman was re-elected Chairman.
On the proposition of Mrs. Yvonne Whitney seconded by
Mrs. Peggy Elks the remaining officers and committee members were re-elected en-bloc as follows.
Vice Chairman, Mr. D. Sidwell
Secretary, Mr. P. Greening
Treasurer, Mrs. A. Cadman
Match & Competition Secretary Mrs. S. Greening
Committee, Messers M. Whitney and B.Coleman.
On the proposition of Mrs Pat Lamble seconded by Mr. D. Elks Mr. A. Ball was elected Hon. Auditor.
A.O.B. There was no other business of which notice had been given. The secretary drew attention to an early posting of the notice requesting names of those wishing to represent the club in 2009/10 matches also the club diary for the summer season.
The club’s copy of "Bowling Skills" by Tony Allcock had gone missing and would be replaced by members personal copies.
The secretary offered to arrange a "Rules, Roles and Etiquette" session during the summer season for those interested. It was agreed to be a good idea particularly for some of the newer players.
CLOSURE: There being no other business the chairman thanked everyone for their attendance and contributions and invited all to adjourn for refreshments before then closing the meeting at 8.10 pm
